He seems too confrontational to be INTj. Beta or Delta ST > Alpha > anything else, imo.

Joy - please - don't take one of the few non-crazy example of INTjs around here, and turn him into an ISTj just because he is not as crazy as tcaudlling. INTj it is.

UDP isn't crazy, and I've known non-crazy INTjs irl, too. Crazy has nothing to do with it. I believe confrontational and argumentative is what I was referring to specifically, though there is more to one's type that that.

You think UDP isn't confrontational? He seems to be much more...passively confrontational than thehoteambush. He does not strike me as confrontantial but just as a reasonable debater.

Yes, passively confrontational is a good way to describe INTjs.

i see nothing to suggest that hotealmbush's initial typing is incorrect. i disagree that INTjs cannot be strongly argumentative.

I've seen an INTj behave argumentatively with a couple of people that he particularly disliked, in a rather passive tone.

Well, this thread is disappointing--definitely not appealing to my argumentative side. No one else wants to argue against INTj?

I have been getting an INTp vibe because you do seem more assertive and (openly) confrontational than most INTjs I know. But then, come to think of it, they can go all Se when they feel strongly about something, so never mind. I could perhaps see INTp, but I couldn't really make an argument against INTj. I do share Joy's impression though.

I like argument and confrontation, at least when it's impersonal. Why shouldn't my mirror? Weak, weak argument.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

At least you know what you're talking about FDG --- you thought I was LSI at one point because of it.

Maybe what you people are getting at is that I don't enjoy "debating about gossip", or perhaps, "Joy's type", or other popular topics here. Also, confrontation for the sake of confrontation is pointless for me. (Or at least at this stage in my life I have nothing to gain from such. That was different a year ago).

I do not appreciate being called "passive-aggressive". because that implies that I'm afraid to speak up or state my dislikings about something. That is not me at all. http://www.answers.com/main/ntquery?...ressive&gwp=16

I don't enjoy confrontation. It makes me sweat, honestly. For instance, when Kim misinterpreted my statement before, I got really stressed about it until the situation was resolved. Recall: "Phew. I'm glad we got that cleared up."

I do like criticizing other people's ideas, which obviously leads to argument sometimes. IRL I try to make light of the criticism as much as possible, but it's difficult to convey online.

I most of all like conversations that go somewhere. I am not at all opposed to hijacking a thread to make it more interesting. Putting my views as bluntly as possible always makes it interesting, but it's a big plus if the reaction is constructive. I don't like it when people take it personally. If the reaction is praise, then it becomes kind of a guilty pleasure.

In fact, this whole thread is kind of making me uncomfortable. I don't like it when people go on and on about themselves. Unless anyone has some convincing arguments against INTj, I suggest we put it to rest. I have considered my Socionic type for about a year, and I'm quite sure. INTp would be the only other possibility
Now that sounds alpha and intj to me.

Speaking of which, you're all bastards.

I'm certain I associate myself more with UDP and thehotelambush more than with niffweed, but niffweed seems like a INTp who I'd normally find immensly irritating, but in his case, I only find slightly irritating. He seems like a Paranoid Android who doesn't know when to stop. I think INTjs can be highly confrontational when they think someone isn't being sincere or
    is being purposedly idiotic.

Yes, and that's a horrible basis for trying to type someone. Would you be so kind as to only make assertions that have some kind of basis if you're going to try to convince others of them? Christ, and we waste your time?

PoLR is a horrible basis for typing someone?

Also note that I wasn't trying to type him based on PoLR, I was questioning whether or not he has a Se PoLR.

INTjs avoid conflict in the form of impersonal arguments? Are you kidding?
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Se polr is not necessarily directly associated with anti-confrontational. particularly for an accepting subtype.

i really don't see where this non-confrontational thing with respect to LIIs is coming from.

Yes, Niffweed's humor is a little too...abstract for me.

style humour seems too devoid of emotion or sincere intent compared to what Alpha types would like - it feels like it drains your very soul with boredom .
I think style humour picks out someone's weak point that the person will obviously find offensive or insecure about - e.g. a mole on their face. humour is more general + seemingly harmless (to me at least) - it would point out a flaw in someone's reasoning while deliberately making a flaw in their own, or making someone feel comfortable by saying 'you think that's bad, wait until you hear what I did...'. A INTj style humour passes a ESFp by - they can't understand why people would do that, or tell the difference between reality + fiction.

There's nothing more to it than that. (Your explanation makes it make a little bit more sense, but I'm still not entirely sure.) It's very simple... there's nothing to explain or discuss.
Then your argument consists of one sentence. How the hell am I supposed to respond to that?
It's not supposed to be an argument. It was a subjective observation. If you want to respond, either agree or disagree.
