Its a colloquial term. The virus came from Wuhan, and therefore its place name is the given name. The official name is used empirically. It was first referred to as novel coronavirus.
We call illnesses by where they came from. Example: the spanish flu, beause spain was the only country reporting the true death toll of that particular flu virus.
You are referring to a derail because of a term that has political correctness implications. The Chinese also feel as though they are victimized by the west and any type of criticism is spun into xenophobia against them. Not sure if you are aware, Chinese State run media is blaming the USA for the virus.
Wuflu is a fairly common way that people are calling it. You may call it COVID-19, which was what the WHO spent weeks deciding on. Its important keep perspective otherwise the memory of the true unfolding of events becomes lost.
I think WUFLU is fine. REgardless of the name, it still was enginered in a laboratory. Propaganda is very, very powerful. There is no patient zero, no publically, and so how would the Government know it came from the Wet Market? Several of the original infected were not connected to the Wet market at all, and scientists in China were drawing conclusions that it was brought into the market from the outside, orginally. All of this was a part of the record up until Feb. When I first began the thread. My gut instincts told me this was going to be the biggest story of this year.

Here is a question, if its getting better in China, and its not, then where are all the Weibo videos of people celebrating? Could it be that martial law and locking people into their buildings has actually not done anything except buy time?
Russia just issued 5 years of jail for breaking their quarantine. Thank-you RT News.

He (ENTj - ENTp? hard to say, lots of business savy) has been following the virus since the middle of January and has a large following for accurate data about the virus itself, and the market effects.

WHO declares global Pandemic.
Last week Trump's economic adviser said it's contained. Who are you going to believe?
Japan announces 19.2 USD billion dollar emergency fund for medical and business owners. Also for research.
Canada announces 1 billion for research, medical, and service emerg fund.
Waives waiting period for employment insurance.
Announces testing for every citizen is now available. Aggressive 'catch and release' testing.
Was that Kelly-anne? It's hard to keep track of the lizards.
His cheif infections officer stated this is going to be really bad during today's hearing. Judging by the generals grave, twitchy face, there is a storm on the horizon.people will weather the storm just not with the same convieneces.
Case, case, cluster, cluster, boom.
It's Larry Kudlow. "Air tight" level containment he says. After reading it again I guess his point was that all of america shouldn't stop working because 500 are sick? Sounds like a strawman.
Stocks plunge into bear market in response to declaration of pandemic.
the numbers of this virus may actually be many more since testings are lacking; so far death rate is around 4%, not a very high rate but it becomes high considering the very high propagation... comparing it with other common viruses its fatality is 50 times higher, not a joke. we're running a global risk of losing millions of people over this virus, but then...not surprising to see some countries valuing economy over safety, spreading political lies over protection.
I'm really not worried about the economy. We've been looking at a possible recession way before the virus. Even with all the FUD it seems very calm, historically the market is still overpriced so it doesn't really look valued in for the continued fall everyone is expecting. If it does I'm looking forward to the cheap stocks and ending the uncertainty in the market for hopefully another bull run.
People say we're "so much worse off than in 2008" but it doesn't seem to be the case. A lot of lessons were learned at that time and the market is more mature today. Debt is higher, but it's allocated much more responsibly.
" I truly believe that this outbreak will be one of the most transformative and consequential events that we have had in this region and this country. I also believe that we will get through it, but it will be hard." -Seattle Mayor
All gatherings of 250 people or more are banned in Washington state.
Its closer to 10x more lethal than the common flu strain. This comes from the American top docs.
Remember, slowing the spread is not the same thing as cure. There is no cure. The top officials are saying there is nothing you can do.
So what you can do is all the practical things. Vitamins C and D are actually crucial. Fluids are crucial. Do not lay down on your back. Lay down on your stomach with your legs spread and your head resting sideways on your arm. This is the best position to assist O2 intake and breathing. Fluids will pool down. You must continue to eat calories. Masks are a good thing for the sick. There are places your soul is prepared to go. Keep your soul hopeful and focus on the grounding you mind on what is right in front of you.
Turn the TV off as emotional stress can compound your sickness. Sleep and rest.
There are a number of medications being used with some success. Malaria meds Chloroquine are being used to lower viral count.
This is a time to pull together with your human resources. If you are a small group type, focus on you and your people.
The youth, under 30 crowd are responding the best. This is not typical of viruses like this, but there you go.
Vitamin D guys.

Here is some good info on Vit C being used by Shanghai University--->
Shanghai Government officially recommends Vitamin C for COVID-19
The government of Shanghai, China has announced its official recommendation that COVID-19 should be treated with high amounts of intravenous vitamin C. (1) Dosage recommendations vary with severity of illness, from 50 to 200 milligrams per kilogram body weight per day to as much as 200 mg/kg/day.
These dosages are approximately 4,000 to 16,000 mg for an adult, administered by IV. This specific method of administration is important, says intravenous therapy expert Atsuo Yanagisawa, MD, PhD, because vitamin C's effect is at least ten times more powerful by IV than if taken orally. Dr. Yanagisawa is president of the Tokyo-based Japanese College of Intravenous Therapy. He says, "Intravenous vitamin C is a safe, effective, and broad-spectrum antiviral."
Richard Z. Cheng, MD, PhD, a Chinese-American specialist physician, has been working closely with medical and governmental authorities throughout China. He has been instrumental in facilitating at least three Chinese clinical IV vitamin C studies now underway. Dr. Cheng is presently in Shanghai continuing his efforts to encourage still more Chinese hospitals to implement vitamin C therapy incorporating high oral doses as well as C by IV.
Dr. Cheng and Dr. Yanagisawa both recommend oral vitamin C for prevention of COVID-19 infection.
An official statement from Xi'an Jiaotong University Second Hospital (2) reads:
"On the afternoon of February 20, 2020, another 4 patients with severe new coronaviral pneumonia recovered from the C10 West Ward of Tongji Hospital. In the past 8 patients have been discharged from hospital. . . [H]igh-dose vitamin C achieved good results in clinical applications. We believe that for patients with severe neonatal pneumonia and critically ill patients, vitamin C treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after admission. . .[E]arly application of large doses of vitamin C can have a strong antioxidant effect, reduce inflammatory responses, and improve endothelial function. . . Numerous studies have shown that the dose of vitamin C has a lot to do with the effect of treatment. . . [H]gh-dose vitamin C can not only improve antiviral levels, but more importantly, can prevent and treat acute lung injury (ALI) and acute respiratory distress (ARDS)."

Vit D
The sun is not giving the human beings in the Northern latitudes enough UV rays this time of year for your skin to produce Vit D.
The rule of thumb is as follows:
If you shadow is longer than you are tall, then you are not getting enough UV radiation to make Vit D.
You should be supplementing. NASA only suggests Vit D for its astronauts.
NBA season suspended due to a player testing positive
Maybe cuz I lack the intuitions I have a hard time reacting to things I can't actually see, touch, feel, etc. and so far (bless) the virus is just some abstract thing on the news. (Same issue with global warming.)
I think this "uh, but I don't see anything.." is a common issue but one thing to keep in mind that engages me a little is that like, it's not all about youuuu, dude. Not only can you avoid getting it (yeah, yeah) but you can avoid being on a chain that leads to the deaths of 5 immunocompromised people. Social distancing is the current manifestation of social activism.
I'm torn between wanting everyone to just die from it already, so we can stop talking about it. (which I know is fucked up, but hey maybe I'm not that fond of humanity)
And
wanting the government to pass out virus injections so this can be over in two weeks.
I know that's fucked up because about 3% of people will die. But it honestly feels like this is all inevitable no matter what we do. It'll end up like the cold or flu, periodically reoccurring, so why delay the inevitable?

Oh and apparently there has been a lot of backlash against the Chinese government for the outbreak that they have forged some new US propaganda, saying the virus was planted there by the US, lol. It's a weird world we live in where unsubstantiated conspiracy theories can hold as much weight as the more substantiated and simple explanations.
It's like everyone is suspicious of everything now. But maybe that's a good thing.
edit:https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/13/asia/...hnk/index.html I'm actually kind of impressed that they thought to do something like this.

I think it's strongly related to . This whole thing about an epidemic that is coming closer and closer and working behind the scenes.
The decisive thing is not the reality of the object, but the reality of the subjective factor, i.e. the primordial images, which in their totality represent a psychic mirror-world. It is a mirror, however, with the peculiar capacity of representing the present contents of consciousness not in their known and customary form but in a certain sense sub specie aeternitatis, somewhat as a million-year old consciousness might see them.
(Jung on Si)
Human beings fear death. They always have. It helps keep them alive but also keeps some in a state of anxiety so something like this is bound to trigger it. In general it is easy to ignore the fact that people are dropping dead around us, all the time, but out of sight every day.
Approximately 25,000 people die of starvation and poverty per day.
So far today:
Over 20,000 died of other communicable diseases
Over 2700 died of HIV/AIDS
Over 1500 died of Malaria
Over 800 died of seasonal flu
Yesterday 354 died of coronavirus (reported)
More people are panicking and seeking treatment for stress and anxiety due to coronavirus. The people seeking it online has increased by thousands. Facing ones fears about their own mortality is inevitable for millions now.
This is not related to Ni. It is related to fear. Sure you can have strong Ni and be fearful but you can have strong Ni and not fear death as well. I have been sick for weeks. I can say with 99% certainty it is not coronavirus related. I am not afraid of shedding this mortal coil. I don't have a death wish either so I am avoiding going out because I have been sick and my recent blood test showed I have polychromasia. It is a good reason to be cautious for now.
I suggest anyone suffering from anxiety to seek some help. I am not directing that to Timber.
“My typology is . . . not in any sense to stick labels on people at first sight. It is not a physiognomy and not an anthropological system, but a critical psychology dealing with the organization and delimitation of psychic processes that can be shown to be typical.” —C.G. Jung
The toilet paper thing is so real? I just went on Amazon and ordered a couple big boxes of canned meat (not in a panic, mind you! Just can't hurt to not be sorry.) The food was available, but they were out of stock of every single brand of paper towels and toilet paper. Has there been a smaller supply to begin with, in general? So strange. Food>TP, imho
^ I'm assuming, but might be wrong, that people are thinking if we get quarantined and they are sick, that they might use a lot of toilet paper. But I don't know.
I think it's strange seeing people wearing surgical masks too when they aren't sick. They aren't designed to filter the air breathed in, just protect other people from fluids coming out of their mouths. But I guess if we all agree to wear masks, maybe it would be preventative if someone is sick, but doesn't know it.
