Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?
I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Ne-INTj like a motherfucker. I've confused Si-ISTp and Ne-INTj several times before, but Mortensen just reeks of IJ-ness to me.

in most instances i've seen him in he seemed like a bit of a stereotype traditional masculine person without exhibiting anything resembling Se, so my inclination was to type him as ESTj.
could just be that my only real encounter with him was watching LoTR, tho.
Every movie I've seen him in has portrayed him as a fairly quiet individualist. Not that there aren't fairly quiet, individualistic ESTjs out there, but ESTjs seem to actively engage in their world. Mortensen's characters often seem about persistent tenacity slowly revealing hidden depths or secrets: cf. Hidalgo, The Road, A History of Violence. Even in LoTR (a work in which characters' motivations and thought processes are not explored much in favor of narrative and scenic detail) he plays a fairly introverted leader type.
I'm sticking with Ne-INTj

Some sort of ST, cold, dry and flat to me. I think SLI, this interview, esp his answer to question No 2 invalidates Beta ST:
He is totally undiscriminatory about everything and specifies that things just happen. Does not separate anything in categories and describes properties (including people's talens) as facts, as a timeline, as they were merely events, treats strengths of people as contingent. I don't really know how to explain all the details of this, but I quote the most insightful parts, they speak for themselves:
"I learned how to do the job."
"There's no many actors who can make a living for years as I have, so if all ends right now I'm fine."
"You know, don't really separate them [arts], they're all the same thing."
"They don't say as adults do, 'There are artists and then there are the other people'. Kids, if they want to draw, they draw. [...] They just do it, they don't think about it. [...] It's just a way of living."
I am thinking Te/Fi rational for Viggo. I know a Te dominant guy who reminds me vaguely of him in self presentation but is much more tense-seeming...ESI is a possibility.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
INTj but I'd go with Ti subtype.
Si hidden agenda is prominent in LII-Tis which makes them appear delta ST-ish.
They certainly have a greater measure of stoicism and than the Ne subs: http://wikisocion.org/en/index.php?t...ubtype_INTj-Ti

disgusting SLI

Delta ST is good
hmm... ok. I guess Delta ST, probably SLI could work. Maybe what seemed like Se-PoLR could be his sx-lastness.
But that would make him and Michael Fassbender identicals...? (I've seen Fassbender typed SLI.)
They seem so different to me. Fassbender is so much more alive. Could this be ascribed to Fassbender being sx-first and a different etype?
Their facial bone structure (more visible in the young pics in the bottom of spoiler) looks different... So if we keep the assumption of Delta ST, then Viggo as LSE-Te sx-last and Fassbender as SLI-Te sx-first? What do you guys think?
and this image is so fitting for this forum
He popped up in a LOTR BTS video I was watching and I was immediately struck with hardcore SLI vibes.
INtroverted thinking type. I'm torn between LII and SLI. He seems too ethereal for a Si-ISTp and too torpid for the Te-ISTp, and while LII makes a reasonable typing for him I have too little experience with LIIs to go with it.
SLI Sp/Sx
I've only seen him in LOTR and A History of Violence. In the later he didn't strike me as Si valuing, but maybe for obvious reasons as the title of the movie suggests. He was good in both, i find him to be a good actor. Seems like his typing is all over the place tho...
I could see how Viggo Mortensen could VI somewhat as ISTp and even more as an INTj but something still remained off with his type.
Or at least that was the case until I viewed the video clip below and noticed similarities with Woody Harrelson - ENTp.
Is he drunk in the clip...I don’t know...but maybe alcohol loosens him and allows his personality type to shine through.
that is amazing
Vigggoooo..!
He is LII
